INTRODUCTION
Nanotechnology is among the most important scientific and technological developments affecting mankind and enterprises in the 21st century. Nanotechnology enables further advancement of micro- and bio-tech thus creating drastic impact on industries, economy and societies in the coming decades. Nanotechnology provides us the ability to manipulate matter at atomic and molecular scale leading to a wealth of innovative new technologies across a vast array of fields including agriculture, healthcare, information technology, energy production and utilization, homeland security and national defense, biotechnology, food and agriculture, aerospace, materials manufacturing and environmental improvement. Nanoscience is the basis of this technology since fundamental understanding will lead to new innovations and practical advances.
Malaysia has launched the National (Malaysia) Nanotechnology Initiatives (NNI) in 2006 and is a member of the Asia Nano Forum (ANF). Nanotech Malaysia 2007 was first organized in 2007 as the highlight of the NNI. Nanotech Malaysia 2009 is the continuation of the successful event. This is an international gathering of scientists, engineers and technology entrepreneurs involved in the field of nanotechnology research and innovation.
Nanotech Malaysia 2009 will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur on October 27-29, 2009. The conference is jointly organised by Malaysia Nanotechnology Association (MNA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Akademi Sains Malaysia.
Nanotech Malaysia 2009 is designed to give business, professionals and public who have little or no knowledge of nanotechnology, a broad overview of the field. Attending the Nanotech conference, forum and exhibition will enhance the participant's experience and knowledge, current research development in nanotechnology and how it will affect all of us in the near and longterm. |
